Narrative
A narrative is a piece of writing. It has a beginning, middle, and end. It is a piece of writing that tells a story whether it's fiction or non-fiction. An example of a piece of narrative writing would be, "My Brother's A Pain In the Back Seat" by Dale Bulla. This book tells a story of how the oldest child always got blamed for everything. Then it tells about a certain car ride they took as kids and how the little brother kept bothering the oldest and finally got caught. When the dad pulled the car over, yanked him out, and told him he better not say another word for thirty minutes, he lost his shoes. They got back in the car and the child did as the dad had said, thirty minutes later he said, "mom when dad pulled me out of the car back there, my shoes fell off." So they had to turn around and get them and from then on the dad always said, Don't forget the shoes before they went somewhere and they all new what that meant!
