New Baby!!

When we discussed memories in class I had chosen the day my niece was born as my precious as gold... well now I have two precious as gold. I now have another niece and she is also my precious as gold. She was born just last wed at 3:21 A.M... So this week I am staying over there to help mom and dad out with the two little ones!

Persuasive/ Descriptive

For my persuasive piece I am going to create a brochure on fishing. It is going to have pictures and reasons why everyone should go fishing at least once.

Then for my Descriptive, I am writing a poem about fishing. It isn't finished but when it is I will post it.

Narrative

A narrative is a piece of writing. It has a beginning, middle, and end. It is a piece of writing that tells a story whether it's fiction or non-fiction. An example of a piece of narrative writing would be, "My Brother's A Pain In the Back Seat" by Dale Bulla. This book tells a story of how the oldest child always got blamed for everything. Then it tells about a certain car ride they took as kids and how the little brother kept bothering the oldest and finally got caught. When the dad pulled the car over, yanked him out, and told him he better not say another word for thirty minutes, he lost his shoes. They got back in the car and the child did as the dad had said, thirty minutes later he said, "mom when dad pulled me out of the car back there, my shoes fell off." So they had to turn around and get them and from then on the dad always said, Don't forget the shoes before they went somewhere and they all new what that meant!

Narrative

Well, I've decided to completely change my narrative. It is about a boy whose family cannot always afford groceries so he decides that he is going to try to catch fish. He goes fishing catches fish and thats what they eat. Then they don't have to worry about not being able to afford groceries as often because at least they can eat the fish they have caught.

Narrative.

Once upon a time, there lived a girl named Kelly. Kelly was a typical girly girl. She loved everything girly. She enjoyed shopping, watching chick-flicks and getting her nails done. Kelly wasn't much of an outdoors person, and she didn't care for the water much either. Then, one day her friend forced her to go along on a boat ride with her and some friends. That was it for kelly. This was the day she met a boy, Brad. Everything for Kelly from this day forward began to change.
Brad was a typical boy who liked everything outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and anything outside. His absolute favorite though, was fishing. He owned a house down at the coast and went down as often as he could, which was usually every weekend. At first, Brad could not convince kelly to go with him. He tried everything he knew to try. He tried bribing her, he tried to take her and surprise her but neither one of those worked. Since Kelly did not enjoy the water, she did not want to go spend the weekend in the ocean. This went on and on for quite sometime.
Finally, Brad convined Kelly to go with him.

Well, obviously this isn't finished but thats all i've written so far. It's a start, and it's got quite a bit to go. So when I finish writing the rest i'll post that as well.

MeMoRiEs!

Today in class, we shared our memories. We shared memories that made us feel warm, that made us laugh, cry, that were a long time ago and that were precious as gold. For my precious as gold memory I chose the day my niece was born. I have a nephew who is five going on six next month, and two nieces that are only two months apart with another niece/nephew due in Nov. With my nephew, I didn't get to see him until he went home from the hospital. With my niece that I picked for my precious as gold memory I was there the entire time. I have made such a bond with her since then. Not only was I there for her birth, but even when she was only three of four weeks old and her mother had to go back to work for the last couple of weeks of school, I was the one who took care of her. I feel almost as if she is my own. I am extremely close to her and I would do anything for her. I feel so much closer to her than I do with the other two because starting from the day she was born I've been an extremely big part of her life! This is why I chose the day of her birth as my precious as gold memory.
